I have like no time to write. We have Zone Leaders council and I have to go to Quito to get their on time so I just wanted to share a story that recently occurred. On Sunday we had too many appointments to handle so we decided to ask two brothers from the Tabi family who are both return missionaries to help us do some divisions. I went with Cesar Tabi, the older one, to go visit some of our families. On the way back from our last appointment he was asking me about how it was being a leader and how it was going with President. (His brother that went with Elder Zambrano served in our mission under President Sloan and was my companion´s trainer) I told him it was going well and then by instinct started talking about numbers. Many responsibilities of a Zone Leader require me to focus on numbers which in itself is not an entirely bad thing, but I had lost the focus. He reminded me in a gentle way of what I was sharing with my brothers and sisters was of the most importance. In that moment I really tried to reflect on what it is I feel for the work I am doing. I was just thinking about numbers, but why? Because I didn´t, and still don´t, fully grasp the importance of what I am teaching. The Lord has assigned me to teach His child how to achieve eternal life. Living the gospel heals broken homes. Living the gospel gives motivation to change and repent of old habits, but what the Lord is offering is so much more than an instant happiness and most of the time the investigators pass through trials even to feel the first part of that happiness. I am to show them the gate to the celestial kingdom. I am a servant of the Lord that holds the keys to act in His name for the eternal welfare of His children. I am humbled and grateful for the reminder of what I am doing. I love this work and love the opportunity to experience and learn.
